This is a 80/10/10 blend of Targhee wool/Bamboo/Tussah Silk

This blend dyes beautifully with the shiny bamboo and Tussah Silk fibers in the blend along with the puffy, crimpy Targhee wool.

Targhee wool is puffy, crimpy USA grown and processed combed top. Targhee is a true American sheep breed that was bred here in the U.S in Idaho. It is named for the Targhee National Forest. The Targhee sheep breed is a dual purpose breed with heavy wool production and a good solid body size. It is well suited to Western climate and is raised primarily for wool in Montana, Wyoming and South Dakota. This breed was developed from Rambouillet, Corriedale and Lincoln sheep.

Targhee fleeces are medium fine-ness at 25 micron. They are bodaciously spongy and crimpy!!!! I love the spongy crimp so much that years ago I bought 6 large trash bags of Targhee fleece from a local sheep farmer, and don't you know, 3 days later I found out I was pregnant and so I sold it all at what I'd paid for it so it would be gone before I would get morning sickness!! So, yes, I do love Targhee! It isn't super fine and soft, but it isn't very coarse either, and you just fall in love with the crimpy, puffy, spongy-ness of it. It is very hard wearing and dyes up nice with acid or natural dyes.

It is good for spinning, dyeing or felting.
