50/50 Cashmere Mulberry Silk Blend 4 or 8oz Combed Top Roving Spinning Fiber for Spinning Dyeing Blend Luxury Undyed White Bare Affogato
from $32.99
Sold by 4 or 8oz.
50/50 luxurious blend of white Cashmere and white Mulberry Silk. Cashmere is considered to be one of the most luxurious fibers available. You can see the shine of the Mulberry Silk in the pictures. Notice the picture of the staple length of this blend in my hand. Mulberry Silk has a several inch staple length, while Cashmere has a pretty short staple length. As you can see in my hand, the shorter Cashmere fibers end, and at the end of the sample you can see that it is just Mulberry Silk.
Keep the differences between the two lengths of these fibers in mind as you draft and spin them. This blend feels soooooo amazing, but you may notice the difference in length as you are spinning.
Cashmere is the dehaired, under-coat from goats, that insulates them and keeps them warm before they shed it, and it is combed out and collected.
The fibers is prized because of it's ultimate fine, softness at 14-18 microns. The collection and dehairing process is slow, and must be done carefully, which is what makes this fiber more prized and expensive. The amount of fiber collected from each goat is small.
I store this and all my fibers carefully in my smoke free, pet free home. This is in stock and ships very quickly.
