Acacia Wattle Extract Natural Plant Dye for Yarn Protein Dyes Earth Friendly Fiber Wool Silk Mordant Dyeing
from $8.99
Priced and sold by 1oz or 2oz.
This is powdered Acacia extract. Acacia is commonly known as wattle. Wattle is a member of the Acacia genus of shrubs and trees and is used in leather tanning, as it is a rich source of tannins.
It is used to create tans, grays and blacks with the addition of iron, and used alone it gives a beige with a pinkish tone. You can see the gray yarn pictured, was saddened with iron for a nice gray. I have seen some beautiful pinks on cellulose fibers, and have not played with this natural dye on plant fibers yet.
I will include an information sheet on dyeing with Acacia, Wattle.
