Walnut Farm Design's Beginner's Drop Spindle Kit includes everything you need to learn to use a drop spindle! It is easy, fast, fun and best of all.....the best low cost way to spin your own yarn!

The kit includes: a drop spindle w/ leader string attached, 1 oz each of 2 beautiful colors of carded Corriedale wool (2 oz total) perfect for spinning, and an easy to follow instruction sheet! Choose the colors you would like included with your spindle from the drop down menus.

The directions also include links to youtube videos for the 'park and draft' method of drop spindling, how to ply on a drop spindle, and how to finish your yarn!

Learning to drop spindle before moving on to using a spinning wheel is a must! I am an impatient person and did not want to learn how to use a spindle before I hopped right on a spinning wheel, but it is an invaluable first step to learn how to draft, and learn how the yarn twists. It was much more fun, easier, and quicker than I had imagined. It's easy to do it while watching tv, and easy to take it with you when traveling!

-spindle is unfinished wood and can be stained or painted to make it your own!
-whorl is 2 3/4" in diameter
-shaft is 11" long and finished with a brass plated hook
-2oz of carded Corriedale wool

Spindle weighs 2oz, making it not too light and not too heavy once spun yarn is added to the shaft.

If requested, I can make this a bottom whorl, just make sure to request that, but I believe top whorl is the easiest for beginners.
