Dyer's Chamomile Seed, Golden Marguerite, Cota tinctoria, Anthemis tinctoria perennial natural dye plant, ox eye yellow

$5.99
30 seeds per packet.

Dyer's Chamomile is also known as Golden Marguerite, Cota tinctoria, Anthemis tinctoria. It is a hardy but weak perennial as it often dies in the late summer of its 2nd year. It has a sprawling habit and grows about a foot high.

Plant in full sun after danger of frost. I find that it is often best to seed my seeds in a flat that I can keep moist. I have a much better germination rate, than when I plant in the ground, because it is easy for the ground to get to dry or hard, or cold during the germination period, and then my seed, money and time were wasted.

The flowers are used to make a very bright, stong, lightfast yellow dye, and you can see the bright sunny yellow yarn that the flowers produced in the listing pictures.

The seeds are very light and very small. These are grown here in my gardens.
