Dyed flax for spinning, felting or doll hair. It is really nice to work with pre-dyed flax, because it is not as easily dyed as wool and other protein fibers.

You can see from the pictures that the staple length is about 4-5" in length and this is the amount I like to pull off and spin from the fold.

Note that there is the slightest bit of copper colored fiber here and there in the sliver. You can see the hint of it in 1 of the pictures. I don't know if every batch will be this way, but this batch has just a tiny hint of copper color in it.

It spins very easily by just pulling off a little bit where the staple length separates, as you see pictured, and folding that in half to spin from the fold. You can spin it with or without water to wet your fingers, but using a little water, helps make the little hairy fibers lay down and produces a smoother, shinier yarn. It makes a very thin and strong thread.
