This flax spins very easily by just pulling off a little bit where the staple length separates, as you see pictured, and folding that in half to spin from the fold. You can spin it with or without water to wet your fingers, but using a little water, helps make the little hairy fibers lay down and produces a smoother, shinier yarn. It makes a very thin and strong thread.
Shorter flax fiber like this, can be easily blended with other fibers, to soften the flax, or create a custom blend.
