Medium/Coarse Wool Ashford Hand Carders 72 ppsi HCL Wool Spinning Fiber Handcards Handcarders Rolags Brushes Combs

$88.99
This is a boxed set of new Ashford hand carders. They are new and in the box, unassembled, which, just means that you need to screw the handles into place and you can put a dab of glue on the handles before you screw them in place if you want as well. Everything is in the box ready for you, you just need the wood glue, if you want to add a dab of that, and a screw driver to screw the screw that is provided into place.

The carding cloth on these handcards have 72 pins per square inch. Note the pictures that show the size of the carding area and over all hand cards. There are also pictures that show the difference between the 72 and the 108 ppsi hand cards.

These hand cards have fewer tines per square inch than the 108 ppsi fine wool hand cards. If you card medium to coarse wools more than fine wools, then you might want these hand cards with fewer tines, so it is easier to card the coarser, higher micron count wool fibers. Personally, I work with fine to fine/medium wool mostly, and so I prefer the 108 ppsi hand cards. For processing fine flax, I also use the 108 ppsi hand cards, but if you are processing coarser flax and want to card them, then these 72 pssi hand cards may work better for you.
