Mulberry Silk Brick 120 gram, 4.23 oz Grade A Fiber Combed Top for Spinning Fibers Dyeing Undyed Natural Silk
$22.99
Priced and sold by the individual 120 gram (4.23oz) brick.
As you can see in the pictures, each 120 grams (4.23oz) of Grade A Mulberry Silk has been wrapped into a square 'brick'. In the one listing picture you can see a brick unraveled and see that it is just silk in combed top form.
The combed top can easily be added to a drum carder or blending board, dyed, or just spun as it is. Silk dyes easily with acid or natural dyes. It dyes especially easily with natural dyes and you can get colors on silk that you may not be able to get as easily on wool. Silk is a protein fiber.
Mulberry silk has a really nice, long staple length as you can see in the listing picture that shows how long the fibers are.
This Grade A Mulberry Silk is perfectly degummed and prepared into combed top, ready for whatever craft project you would like to use it for. Mulberry silk worms eat the readily available and renewable mulberry bushes/trees and make wonderfully lustrous and strong silk. Silk is a marvel of nature.
