This is a boxed set of new Ashford hand carders. They are new and in the box, unassembled, which, just means that you need to screw the handles into place and you can put a dab of glue on the handles before you screw them in place if you want as well. Everything is in the box ready for you, you just need the wood glue, if you want to add a dab of that, and a screw driver to screw the screw that is provided into place.


The carding cloth on these handcards have 72 pins per square inch. Note the pictures that show the size of the carding area and over all hand card, as well as the picture that compares the 108 ppsi small hand cards to the 72 ppsi hand cards.

These handcards are good for medium to coarse wool. I card mostly fine to medium wools, so I prefer the 108 ppsi hand cards, but I think the fewer pins would be necessary for coarser wools.
