This is a boxed set of new Ashford hand carders. They are new and in the box, unassembled, which, just means that you need to screw the handles into place and you can put a dab of glue on the handles before you screw them in place if you want as well. Everything is in the box ready for you, you just need the wood glue, if you want to add a dab of that, and a screw driver to screw the screw that is provided into place.


The carding cloth on these handcards have 108 pins per square inch. Note the pictures that show the size of the carding area and over all hand card, as well as the picture that compares the sizes of 3 different Ashford hand cards.

These hand cards have the same carding cloth as the fine hand cards. They are just smaller. So, if you want smaller hand cards for fine to medium wools, then these are perfect. Ashford also has these labeled on the boxes as small cotton hand cards. Their large cotton hand cards have 190 pssi carding cloth on them, and this carding cloth is only 108 ppsi. So, they will card cotton, but I do prefer the higher 190 ppsi carding cloth and the larger, longer size of the other cotton cards. But, if you want a smaller over-all hand carder size, then these are good.
