Dried whole Weld, Reseda luteola, plant harvested from my dye gardens. The whole weld plant can be used as a natural dye in fresh or dry form. Weld gives a very lightfast yellow that has been a very important dye since antiquity. It gives a lighter, more buttery yellow than some other yellow dye sources, in my opinion.

I harvested and dried the whole stems of my weld plants to use as a natural dye and some of the robust, thicker stems got quite hard to break with my bare hands, so this is chunky, dried pieces of the whole weld plant.

Weld has long been used to dye gorgeous emerald greens with indigo, because both are very lightfast.


I will include an information sheet on dyeing with Weld.
